Lee Allen, a native of Greenville, a graduate of JH Rose High School and a graduate of East Carolina University, is a NC State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. Lee graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law in May of 1992 and passed the North Carolina Bar Exam that summer. Lee has practiced family law in eastern North Carolina since 2001. Lee joined Colombo Kitchin, Attorneys in 2010. Prior to that time, he was a partner in a Greenville firm and before that practiced with a large firm having offices across the state. Early in his career, Lee served Pitt County as an Assistant District Attorney. He is a former United States Army officer and served in the United States and Germany. As a Captain in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps, he was mobilized and served a tour of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lee has been a Certified as a Family Financial Mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission since 2009. Lee is a qualified Parenting Coordinator pursuant to the North Carolina General Statutes, and as such, is on the list to be selected by the Courts to assist the Court and parents in high-conflict custody cases as a parenting coordinator in several Judicial Districts in eastern North Carolina. Lee is a certified arbitrator for Pitt County District Court.Lee is married to the former Wendy Morton, who played college basketball at ECU. Lee and Wendy live in Greenville with their four children. Lee is active in several veterans' organizations. he has served as Commander of American Legion Post 39 in Greenville for a number of years. Lee is a long-time member of the ECU Pirate Club (Van Sant Society), the Wake Forest University Deacon Club, Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, the Greenville Rotary Club, and the Society of 40 Men and 8 Horses (the Honor Society of American Veterans), as well as serving on the Board of the Pitt County American Legion Agricultural Fair.Lee was named to the Legal Elite for Family Law by the magazine BUSINESS NORTH CAROLINA each year from 2014 through 2018. He's listed in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA and has twice been named a "Top Ten" attorney by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys.
