Firm: Military Justice Center

Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
I have over 30 years of experience as a trial attorney and military lawyer. I have represented thousands of clients, most of whom have been members of the military and their families. These cases include hundreds of courts-martial, administrative boards, military investigations and other military matters, in addition to cases in both state and federal court. I believe in zealous representation. The Military Justice Center is committed to providing straightforward, superb, and skilled legal advice and representation to every client. Experience --my experience as an attorney began in 1982. I served in the US Army on active duty from 1982 to 1986 with the Trial Defense Service. Later, I served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender from 1986 to 1989. In the Federal Public Defender's office, I represented various defendants in United States District Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. I was responsible for all military-related cases arising out of Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point and Pope AFB. In 1989, I returned to Fayetteville to begin private practice. Since then I have represented clients in all courts; military, state, and federal. My practice includes military law, criminal law (both State and Federal), personal injury law and medical malpractice. In 1999, I began the Military Justice Center to better serve the military community. I have advised Privates, Sergeant Majors, General Officers, and their family members. I have tried cases ranging from traffic violations to federal drug conspiracies to capital murder. My clients have included victims of personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice. In 2001, I graduated from the Judge Advocates School's Military Judge Course and am a certified Military Judge. In 2003, as Staff Judge Advocate of the North Carolina's 30th Heavy Separate Brigade, I was called to active duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom. My two years of active duty service included 10 months in Iraq, for which I received the Bronze Star Medal. I was released from Active Duty in September 2005. I have now reorganized the Military Justice Center and is ready to represent military personnel anywhere in the world. As a civilian once again, I am able to use my experience as a deployed Staff Judge Advocate to communicate with active duty commanders and judge advocates. Areas of Practice include but is not limited to... Courts-Martial, Administrative Boards, Article 15's, Military Investigations, Criminal Law, Federal (White Collar Crime), Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death.
