Family law is my primary practice, and within that, my forte is working with families with children and figuring out the best legal solutions for each situation. I also take cases involving paternity, parentage, and other custody-related matters. Cases are not numbers to me; they are people. So, I am constantly looking for ways to serve my individual clients.. My primary goal is to provide my clients with innovative solutions to their legal problems. My secondary goal is to provide legal services in a holistic manner. I do this by helping my clients craft an imagined reality for themselves – to see that they have a purpose that exceeds their current condition. Helping people navigate a divorce is my core motivation, and it is vital to me that I treat each of my clients with compassion. Because of the situations they are in, clients often come to me in a highly emotional state, and that agitation may last a few weeks or even the entire life of their case. I do not just sympathize with them – I can truly empathize. Years ago, I went through my own high-conflict divorce, and I had to deal with that difficult situation for a long time. I tell clients this, and I show them that I truly do understand – by listening, by being available for them, and by offering compassion.

GENERAL: I celebrated my 50th year as an Oklahoma attorney in 2012. I focused on insurance defense for the first half of my practice before switching my practice to the plaintiffs’ side, so I have seen insurance law from both sides. Most of my practice comes from referrals from my fellow attorneys, mainly on tougher cases involving insurance coverage and personal injury litigation. TEACHING: I have served Oklahoma attorneys and legal assistants as an adjunct professor since 1986. I have taught Insurance Law and Conflicts of Law at the University of Oklahoma College of Law since 1994. I also taught Insurance Law and Advanced Torts at Oklahoma City University School of Law from 1993-2010, and Insurance Law in the Legal Assistant Program at the University of Oklahoma College of Law from 1986-1992.
