Bradd Bunce

Firm: Green Law Firm, LLC
2821 Millwood Ave , Columbia , South Carolina 29205
Practice Areas: Car Accidents
Why did you decide to become a lawyer?. As a former death investigator, I frequently saw the devastating consequences of careless behavior.  Too often, victims' families had no idea that medical mistakes were made or how to proceed.  The more I saw this, the more I wanted to help families seek justice.. What did you do before you were a lawyer?. I was trained in forensic anthropology, which is the field that applies knowledge of human skeletal traits to legal questions.  For instance, I learned how to determine the sex, age, and ancestry of skeletal remains.. I applied this training first as a deputy coroner in South Carolina, then as an investigator at the medical examiner's office in Austin, Texas.  In these positions, I learned how to ask questions in interviews, how to scrutinize medical records, and how law enforcement officers approach cases.. What are your personal interests?. As the married father of three young children, most of my "free" time I spend with my family.  I am a leader in my son's Boy Scout troop, where I have the opportunity to help boys learn and demonstrate the core values of Scouting.

Benjamin Traywick

Firm: Ben Traywick Law Firm, LLC
171 Church Street, #340 , Charleston , South Carolina 29401
Practice Areas: Products Liability, Trucking Accidents, Personal Injury
Ben Traywick is a trial lawyer who represents clients in matters relating to personal injury and wrongful death; defective construction and contractor/developer negligence; investment fraud and money manager negligence/misrepresentation; probate and contested will claims, and various other matters. He has been lead counsel in more than a dozen trials seen through to verdict, in both state and federal courts in South Carolina.. Practicing law in his hometown of Charleston, Ben has a lifetime's worth of great friends and his entire family: parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and his own lovely wife and two little girls. Yet unlike many "locals", Ben embraces the wave of new arrivals the Charleston area has seen in recent years from all over the country. In his view the new folks bring new energy and new ideas which keep the scene here vivid and interesting. In recent years Ben has represented clients hailing from Washington and California, Massachusetts and New York, and of course many from across South Carolina.. Outside of work Ben reads as many good books as possible, wets a fishing line here and there, and hones his chronically mediocre home improvement skills. He serves his neighborhood civic club as its treasurer and attorney, his church on its vestry and as lector, his town on its Historical Commission, and his colleagues in the South Carolina Bar in its House of Delegates.

Practice Areas: Patent Application
After flying for the U.S. Navy for over a decade and serving with General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.) on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, I became an electro-optics engineering center manager and eventually a Registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).. My practice of law is focused on intellectual property. I seek to protect my clients' valuable intellectual property in the most efficient and cost-effective manner for the individual client.*. I obtain U.S. & international patents, U.S. & international trademark registrations, and U.S. copyright registrations for my clients. Furthermore, I help clients protect and enforce their valuable intellectual property rights, including, when necessary, via litigation in federal and state courts as well as in administrative tribunals such as the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences, and the International Trade Commission.. My experience in patent prosecution includes mechanical, optical, computer, and electro-mechanical arts in which I have obtained hundreds of U.S. & international patents for my clients. I have also conducted dozens of patent non-infringement and validity analyses, trademark analyses and I have advised my clients with respect to copyright, trade dress, trade secret and domain name concerns.. My litigation experience includes copyright, trademark and patent infringement cases, from both the defendant's and the plaintiff's points of view. My cases have also included issues related to intellectual property, such as Unfair Business Practices and commercial disparagement.. I help clients improve their bottom line with their intellectual property. By way of a recent example, a well known national company purchased my regional client's patents and pending applications for nearly $20 million. In that case, I helped build the client's patent portfolio from scratch then assisted in its acquistion nearly 8 years later.. On the lighter side, I coach Little League and Travel Baseball teams and hope to develop our young boys into competitive gentlemen and to help them reach their God-given potentials on and off the baseball diamond.. *A South Carolina ethics opinion suggests that client testimonials are not permitted. However, AVVO will not remove testimonials because: "It is critical to Avvo’s independence and consumer credibility that attorneys not control whether reviews appear on Avvo. Accordingly, we do not delete reviews. As you can’t control whether reviews appear on your profile, there should be no issue with the SC Bar."

Becoming a trial lawyer was inevitable for Bennett J. Schiller, III. He was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1968 the son of Bennett and Marie Schiller. Never having much in the material sense but having parents who put others first, taught Mr. Schiller to have compassion for others. When his family moved to Columbia, South Carolina for his father to attend Columbia Bible College times got even tougher. His dad went to school by day and worked in the cotton mill at night. This impressed upon Mr. Schiller at an early age that nothing replaces hard work and preparation.. After graduating from Lexington High School as the Senior Class President, Mr. Schiller earned a full four year Citadel Scholars Scholarship for academics to The Citadel. While there, Mr. Schiller excelled both in the classroom and in public service to his school and community. He served as the President of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity. Before attending law school, Mr. Schiller worked as an office services assistant at McNair Law Firm in Columbia, South Carolina. That is where he met his wife, Karoline Higgins Schiller. Today, they have four beautiful, healthy children. During his time in law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, Mr. Schiller worked for a successful personal injury firm Lee, Eadon, Isgett and Popwell. It is there that Mr. Schiller developed the passion for serving injured families. While in law school Mr. Schiller served his fellow students and the student Senator to the University of South Carolina’s Student Senate. He also was the President of Phi Delta Phi, The Federalist Society and the Law Republicans. Mr. Schiller enjoyed volunteering at many local charities and organizations including the Oliver Gospel Mission and Harvest Hope Food Bank.. After graduating from USC School of Law in 1994, Mr. Schiller went to work for a local personal injury firm in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He quickly realized the need to be on his own and co-founded the firm Atwater, Schiller and Reeves. During this time Mr. Schiller grew his practice to include Lancaster, Chester, York and Columbia, SC. Mr. Schiller was elected to serve the 16th Circuit as the Circuit Representative on the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar Association. Continuing his public service, Mr. Schiller served on the Board of Directors for the Upper Palmetto YMCA. He and his wife have served on committee for Young Life of York County. Mr. Schiller is also a recent past President of his Home Owners Association.. Recently Mr. Schiller moved his family to Beaufort to get back to his roots. He opened the Beaufort Office in November of 2011 and has grown steadily. He jumped right into serving the community. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of Beaufort. He is a member of the Leadership Beaufort Class of 2014. Mr. Schiller currently represents many locals and looks forward to many years of service to the Low Country.. Fighting for others and standing up for the rights of individuals no matter how difficult the circumstances are is what Bennett J. Schiller, III stands for.
