Bryan Pieper

Firm: The Law Office of Bryan E. Pieper, PLLC
530 Edwin Street , Nashville , Tennessee 37207
Practice Areas: Labor , Employment & Labor, Employment & Labor
Whether it’s an employment law case or a complex business dispute, Bryan E. Pieper has litigated across the country, from New York to Oregon, California and Florida. As much as he loves being in the courtroom, Bryan is equally comfortable in the boardroom, counseling clients through internal labor and employment disputes or conducting in-house training or policy review in order to prevent disputes.. Bryan has lived around the world, having spent several years in Germany and Czechoslovakia, as well as having lived in international U.S. cities such as Miami and New Orleans, yet he loves to call Nashville home. Bryan first came to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University, and wherever his travels have taken him, he has always returned.. Bryan’s commercial litigation practice covers a broad range of business disputes, including corporate officer and director liability, fraud, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, trademark infringement and antitrust violations. Bryan’s labor and employment law practice focuses not only on dispute resolution but also on dispute prevention through preventive measures such as policy preparation, HR training and corporate compliance. He frequently speaks to trade associations and at legal seminars on employment law topics such as wrongful termination, discrimination, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"), ADA, FMLA, FLSA overtime regulation, and drafting and enforcing covenants not to compete.. Bryan represents both employers and employees, and he firmly believes it makes him better at both. Bryan contends that you cannot be the best you can be unless you have walked in the shoes of your opponent. When he is not litigating a case or helping a client navigate a sticky employment or contract matter, Bryan’s practice provides him with the best possible perspective on the law – the view from the bench. For several years, Bryan served as an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), presiding over disputes between Nashville Electric Service and its employees. For several years after that, he provided the same service as a Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) Outside Review Officer, presiding over disputes between MNPS and its employees. Companies hire Bryan to conduct internal investigations when they must get to the bottom of a business or workplace problem in a thorough and neutral manner. He also helps parties resolve disputes as a Rule 31 listed Civil Mediator. By representing plaintiffs, defendants and serving as a third-party neutral, Bryan has a 360-degree view of what really works and what doesn’t.. Bryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he studied Political Science and German, though he completed a portion of his undergraduate studies at Regensburg University in Germany. Similarly, he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Vanderbilt School of Law, though he also studied law at Charles University in Prague, Czechoslovakia (now, the Czech Republic).. Bryan lives in East Nashville, where he and his family are active members of their Lockeland Springs neighborhood

Joshua Lindsey

Firm: Lindsey Amonette + Glassford, PLLC
One American Center , Nashville , Tennessee 37203
Practice Areas: Civil , Labor , Products Liability, Divorce & Separation, Divorce & Separation
Prior to forming Lindsey Amonette + Glassford, PLLC (formerly Lindsey Amonette Nemer + Glassford, PLLC), Joshua practiced law at nationally-recognized law firms in Houston, Texas, and in Nashville, Tennessee.  Moving to Nashville in 2003 for his wife’s medical fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Joshua practiced law in the labor and employment division at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, PLLC, and then as an attorney in both the litigation and corporate divisions at Bass Berry & Sims PLC.. When one of Joshua’s own family member was adversely affected by a very difficult divorce in Middle Tennessee, Joshua followed a calling to apply the client-centered approach to the practice of law that he had learned at large law firms to the arena of family law in Middle Tennessee, founding Lindsey + Amonette, PLLC in 2010 to assist clients better in their times of need.  It’s the best professional decision he has ever made.. While Joshua litigates divorces regularly, he is also a founding and sustaining member of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance ("MTCA"), and Joshua has a robust and extremely active collaborative divorce practice wherein he represents his clients in the collaborative divorce process.  Joshua describes collaborative divorce as "the humane divorce process that gives my clients the very best chance at a positive co-parenting relationship at the end of the divorce.". Born in Houston, Texas, Joshua was graduated from St. John’s School in 1990 and then from Sewanee: The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, in 1994.  At Sewanee, Joshua received his B.A. magna cum laude in Religion and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.  From Sewanee, Joshua attended Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received his J.D. cum laude in 1997 and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi honor society. Joshua currently serves on the Board of the Middle Tennessee Collaborative Alliance, where he serves as the Director of Public Education.  He was also the Co-Chair of the Domestic Relations Committee of the Nashville Bar Association.  Joshua and his wife, Elizabeth, are active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church and have three (3) children.

Teresa Bult

Firm: Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLP
401 Commerce St Ste 1010 , Nashville , Tennessee 37219
Practice Areas: Labor , Employment & Labor
I have been practicing employment litigation defense (exclusively on the company/ management side) for 17 years now with the same firm (Constangy)- which seems crazy.  Over those many years, I’ve learned employment law creates a strange world, and partly because of that, I can’t imagine doing anything else.  I'm not one for touting all the credentials that almost every other employment-defense attorney out there probably also has, but I guess just for the record, I should verify that yes, yes, I’ve handled a zillion (give or take) employment litigation cases, including class/ collective actions, I’ve taken tons of depositions, have taken about 10 cases through trial, and have argued some on appeal, too.In terms of me, personally, I grew up in rural Arkansas, lived/ traveled in various spots in the U.S. during college/ law school, and finally settled in Nashville when I came to Constangy 17 years ago as a "baby attorney."  I am now married to a Missions Pastor and a mother of 3 -- two boys and a little girl we adopted from Ethiopia in 2011.  I am passionate about adoption and am always happy to talk to people who might be interested in going down this path!. I am also passionate about mentoring young attorneys/ professionals, and ensuring that (especially) women have a strong network.  I firmly believe there is such a thing as work-life balance!  But I also recognize part of my theories on that is that I work for such an amazing firm and with such amazing people.
