I grew up on a ranch in the country near Anson, Texas, not far from Abilene. Growing up in "the sticks" was an adventure, and it helped shape my early life. I graduated Valedictorian of my high school in 1995 and went to Texas A&M University where I graduated in 1999 in the top 10% of my class with a B.B.A. in Accounting. After graduation with honors from A&M, I went straight to law school at Texas Tech University School of Law on a full scholarship. I finished law school in the top 10% of my class with a Juris Doctorate (J.D) in law. After law school, I moved back to Abilene and went to work for a local firm. After working as an associate at a law firm for a year, I almost quit being a lawyer for good. I decided to quit my job at the firm and took off on an adventure, backpacking Europe for three (3) months. When I got back with a new perspective on life, I decided to start my own law practice and be my own boss. I haven't looked back since. For the last 20 years, I have fought for people who need an experienced, aggressive lawyer to stand up for their rights when injured, charged with a crime, or confronted with a divorce or custody battle. The fight continues...

I have argued a case in front of the Texas Supreme Court. I recently won a case affecting DWI cases across the State in front of the Court of Criminal Appeals. I’ve handled literally hundreds of criminal cases. I trust juries. I go into every case my firm takes on assuming we will have to try the case to a jury. This preparation very frequently leads to dismissal of the case. I have tried over 60 jury trials, with the vast majority leading to a not guilty verdict for my client. In 2017, I tried 17 jury trials, leading to 13 verdicts of not guilty or the case ending in a mistrial due to errors on behalf of the State. It will be difficult to find an attorney more driven or dedicated to their clients. When I'm not in court, you will frequently find me fishing, boating, and spending time with friends and family in the Galveston area.
