Benjamin Gifford is a trial tested attorney with significant experience. Prior to serving the people of Amarillo, Texas at the Potter County District Attorney's Office, Mr. Gifford served as a Federal Prosecutor in the Eastern District of Oklahoma where he prosecuted myriad cases related to Indian Law under the Major Crimes Act. Before his time with the Department of Justice, Mr. Gifford practiced in Colorado where he successfully tried professional malpractice and civil liability cases and spent time as a state prosecutor for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office where he successfully tried multiple cases for crimes ranging from Driving Under the Influence to Domestic Violence. Mr. Gifford has been lead counsel on hundreds of matters and has been counsel of record through multiple trials.  In his first personal injury trial, Ben successfully tried an auto accident case in Denver District Court.  The outcome was significant and published in the Jury Verdict Reporter of Colorado, Volume 31, Number 1. Since that trial Ben has continued to excel in and outside of the Courtroom. He is widely considered one of the most aggressive and dedicated lawyers in the country.. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ben served for 8 years in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry Platoon and Company Commander with 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his time in the Marine Corps Ben was honored to serve during three combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan and was the recipient of numerous personal and unit awards.. Ben graduated from the University of California in 2000 where he played division one baseball. Beginning in 2008, and after his service in the Marine Corps, Ben attended Pepperdine University School of Law graduating in 2011. Ben’s personal interests include spending time with his family, mountain biking, martial arts, swimming, and baseball.
