Jamis M. Gardner is a member of the firm’s litigation practice.. He represents clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, including trial and appellate work. His practice is focused on complex commercial and general civil litigation. In January 2013, he represented a client in a three-day jury trial in which the client had been sued for $12 million, the jury returned a verdict for only $23,000. He was honored in 2012 and 2014 as Mountain States Rising Star in the Super Lawyers publication. Prior to joining RSA in 2007, Mr. Gardner was a criminal prosecutor in Phoenix for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor Mr. Gardner personally handled jury and bench trials before city and Superior Court judges. He is still a member of the Arizona Bar.. Mr. Gardner earned his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University in 2003. In 2006, he earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. While at UNC he participated in Moot Court and Mock Trial, earning several awards in competitions. He was the Senior Associate Justice for the school’s Holderness Moot Court, and was named a member of the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization which recognizes excellence in written and oral advocacy skills.. Mr. Gardner grew up in Spanish Fork, and has returned to live there with his wife and their family. He attended Spanish Fork High School, where he played for the basketball team.
