She also has extensive experience in representing individuals in school meetings and administrative proceedings, which include but are not limited to special education, in state tuition appeals, student discipline, and school employment matters.. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich also routinely serves as counsel for those seeking guardianship and/or conservatorship of an incapacitated adult.  In addition, she has been certified as a Guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults in guardianship, conservatorship, and family law matters.. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich has also taken the qualification course to be a Guardian ad litem for children.. Career:. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich began her career as a paralegal/law clerk at William B. Reichhardt & Associates.  Upon passing the Virginia State Bar, Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich was promoted to associate, and then senior associate.  With over fourteen years experience, Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich founded McIntyre DeFede Law PLLC.. Community Involvement:. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich is an active member of the Virginia State Bar and Fairfax Bar Association. She is also a member of the Virginia Women Attorney Association and the Family Law section of the Fairfax Bar Association.  She is also a former member of the Young Lawyer’s section of the Fairfax Bar Association (2002-2013). In addition, she is a participant in the Northern Virginia Legal Services Pro Bono Program.. Ms. McIntyre-Yurkovich is also very active in the community.  She has served on the event planning committee for Conquer Pediatric Chiari; she has helped raise funds for Conquer Chiari and Rainbow Center 4-H Therapeutic Riding; and she also serves on the Special Education Advisory Committee for her local school district.
