He has experience in both the Seattle and Tacoma (detained) Immigration Courts, having successfully represented clients in their cases of asylum, torture protection, fraud waivers, adjustment of status, and extreme hardship.. Steve lived along the U.S./Mexico border for two years where he became fluent in Spanish and was enveloped in the Hispanic culture. Steve also studied law in Guatemala and was a legal intern with a law firm in Guatemala. These experiences deepened his connection to the Hispanic and immigrant communities which allows him to better understand his clients as they navigate the long and complex immigration process. In addition to the Immigration Courts, Steve has successfully represented clients in family-based visa cases with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Seattle and Yakima, WA, and in U.S. Embassies throughout the world, including petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and medical waivers..
