His knowledge of family laws and court procedures is second to none. Chad’s experience and skill routinely leads to early and outstanding settlements in cases he champions. However, when unreasonable demands circumvent settlement and push comes to shove, Chad is equally adept at litigating cases at court as he is negotiating them outside of it. Chad began his career with divorce and family law and has been doing it ever since.. In their 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 publications, Washington Law & Politics Magazine recognized Chad as a Rising Star among family law attorneys in the State. This recognition is provided to only 2.5 percent of attorneys in Washington each year.. Outside of law practice, Chad is an outdoorsman and father. He loves being outside, nature, and animals. He has two rescued dogs, Duke, a pit bull, and Willow, a lab-shepherd mix. He is an avid hunter, fishes religiously, and enjoys camping and boating throughout Washington and Idaho. Chad is also an accomplished craftsman, building custom furniture and doors with the same attention to detail and patience he devotes to the practice of law.

As I look back on almost 30 years of practice, I have loved being a lawyer.  I have experience and success in a variety of fields, which has made me more well-rounded compared to those who emphasize only 1 or 2 areas of law.. I have obtained several rewarding and high settlements for clients in employment law, divorces, personal injury, civil rights and police misconduct cases. I obtained the highest jury verdict in Spokane County ($3 million) against a Sheriff's office for misconduct against my clients. I am a well-rounded trial attorney who has litigated a wide range of cases, including taking cases through mediation, arbitration, and if needed, trial and appeals courts. I have done thousands of both bench and jury trials.. In law school, they told us in orientation that a high percentage of lawyers wish they did not go to law school and become a lawyer, so I am in the minority - I would not change a thing.  The law is for me.  I am a "lifer", which means I will practice law until they drag me away.. I decided to become a lawyer after the Major League Baseball peoples did not draft me in the first few rounds when I was 18.  I pitched several "1 hitters" (yes, 1 hitters, not "no hitters") in high school and for American Legion at ages 16-18, however, I lacked a 4th pitch (slider, curve, and knuckle-curve was all I had).  Anyway, I also loved playing basketball and football, but when old age set in (age 24+), I began playing softball and have really enjoyed that over the years, until really old age set in (age 40+), and now I don't play as much.  Trying to pick up golf cuz I see a lot of older people out there swinging the clubs, but the last few years I have focused on Tennis.  I like martial arts, sports on t.v., great movies, great food, and being happy.  I had not traveled around the world much, until I met my wife, Hong, who has taken me to China many times now (wow, it is really cool).  My focus outside of work is my daughter, JoJo and her life!  Anyway, I still spend a lot of time doing work because I am obsessed with deadlines, client problems and being the best lawyer I possibly can.

Kathy Bruya

Practice Areas: Family
Hi there and thanks for visiting my page! Let me tell you a little bit about my practice.. For over 27 years, I have worked tirelessly for clients throughout King County.. Divorce and family law is a very emotional area of the law, and I have worked exclusively in this area. I am committed to providing as much support as possible to all my clients. My goal is to get you through this process as smoothly as possible. Sometimes we will need to get the court's input on issues and other times we will be able to work out agreements with the other party. Working out agreements that are fair and equitable and in the best interest of your children, if applicable, is always the best option and makes this process much more bearable for you. However, if we need to go to court then so be it and we will do it together!. I began working in family law in 1998 for another attorney in King County. In 2003, I opened my own law office. In 2014, I decided to move my office to my home in Auburn.. Because I am a sole practitioner and work out of my home, I am able to spend as much time as needed, whenever needed, on each of my cases. I often have phone conferences in the evenings and weekends to accommodate my clients' schedules. Shoot me an email and we can set up a time to chat!. Thanks so much for taking time to review my page:)
