GCPeters Law, PLLC specializes in helping families and individuals protect Assets, plan for Long Term Care with financial assistance and Probate matters. We also assist small business owners, physicians and medical group practices with health and business law matters. Our firm is a client centered firm. We carefully listen to the client's concerns and work together to develop possible solutions to help resolve the client's concerns. We do not have set office hours because we realize problems and concerns do not always conveniently occur during normal business hours. Like many other businesses, during COVID we do offer video conferencing as well or telephone conferences.. The initial consultation is free and if you retain our firm, in most instances our fee is a flat fee based on the scope of work. In some cases, like a Medical Malpractice case, there is an initial retainer for expenses and a contingency fee agreement for the attorney fees. If we are unable to help a potential client we will attempt to connect the client with a highly qualified attorney in the practice area needed for the particular matter.

Practice Areas: Estate Planning
I am a second-career attorney who started Adaptive Law Firm PS so I could offer legal services my own way. I pursued my law degree following a nearly ten-year academic career in urban planning and community development, and now apply my problem-solving mentality to a mixed practice of estate planning, land use and elder law. I represent my home district (District 3) on the Skagit County Planning Commission, and continue to teach as an adjunct professor in the accredited Urban and Regional Planning program at Cal Poly Pomona. I am a member of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAF), a volunteer attorney with Community Action of Skagit County, and a licensed real estate broker with Windermere Real Estate / North Cascades.. I earned my J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon in 2011, where I emphasized agriculture and natural resources law, and my Ph.D. in Urban Studies from Portland State University in 2001. I also hold a B.A. in Planning and Environmental Policy from Western Washington University’s Huxley College in Bellingham, Washington. I am licensed to practice law in Washington and Montana.. If I am outside the office, I am probably hanging out with my kids Owen (age 3) and Zoe (age 1), running the amazing trails of Skagit County, baking gluten-free goodies that I may or may not share with others, or listening to elder law podcasts. (Yes, I’m serious.)

As a two-time cancer survivor, I bring a unique perspective to the process of Estate Planning, especially for clients who are facing medical challenges themselves. I have always enjoyed helping others through difficult situations and finding ways to make challenging situations easier and more understandable.. I enjoy people and the world around me, celebrating each day as an opportunity. Lately I have rediscovered an interest in fitness and have enjoyed some of the wonders of Washington State backpacking and climbing several of our local volcanoes. (picture of me on Mt. Baker). In the fall of 2010 headed to Africa, the land where my mother was raised to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro (at 19,340', the highest peak on the continent). Lately I've been tackling longer trail events, marathon or longer races on trails in Washington, Oregon, and as far away as Switzerland. I try to focus on living each day to the fullest.
