Bryan began his career more than a decade ago as a clerk at the Washington State Supreme Court, after graduating at the top of his class from Seattle University School of Law. Five years before joining Metier Law Firm he founded Doran Law, a single lawyer firm devoted to catastrophic injury victims. “I have talked to lawyers at firms who handle dozens of cases at a time – some run more than a hundred. I chose a different model. I kept the caseload small, and limited my practice to victims with life-changing injuries who deserved substantial financial assistance to deal with their loss. I wanted to run every case with a full court press, and I wanted to know my clients personally.” It was a model forged by his early career. The first several years of Bryan’s career, Bryan’s practice included corporate litigation. He founded his firm to bring the intensity of “high stakes” corporate litigation to injury cases.

I was born and raised in Seattle but spent over a decade living back East, in Washington D.C., Boston, Providence, and southern Massachusets. I feel like I have various homes, and gives me good perspective. Every case and client truly is different. to use the cliche.. I've been fortunate to have been able to practice laws from a wide variety as a angles. First, as a criminal prosecutor, then in civil insurance defense, and now as a criminal defense lawyer, personal injury lawyer, and pro tem judge.. I have a lot of trial experience. I've tried over 200 cases, including over 150 jury trials. In the criminal justice and personal injury field, you have to be a good trial lawyer to be a really good lawyer. To get the best result, you have to be willing to try every case. In that sense, trials are the great equalizer in our system--it's where the lawyers truly stand out.. I love playing tennis and running, but probably my favorite activity is reading. I've been reading military and political history for years. Now I love pretty much anything non-fiction, especially history, law, and politics.

Carrie Umland earned her Bachelor of Arts from Central Washington University and received her Juris Doctor degree from Seattle University School of Law. She grew up in Washington and has always been a resident of the Pacific Northwest.. Carrie has practiced personal injury law for over 20 years representing plaintiffs and defendants. While attending law school she worked as a case manager/negotiator for a small plaintiff's personal injury firm. Prior to that she had been a claim representative for State Farm Insurance Company. Following graduation from law school her practice focused on insurance defense work until 2000. Realizing she had a greater calling, she then changed her practice and began exclusively representing injured people in her community against the larger and more powerful insurance companies, large business and government entities. As a result, Carrie's love of law again flourished, and her reputation quickly grew as a fierce but fair advocate for the injured. Today she is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and an Eagle Member (an exclusive group of trial lawyers) of the Washington State Association for Justice. She has served as a judge for the American Association of Justice Student Trial Advocacy Competition and the Seattle University School of Law Appellate Argument Competitions.
