Greg grew up in the Pacific Northwest and the San Francisco Bay Area.  He majored in economics at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma where he also rowed for the varsity crew team. Greg then attended the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, where he earned his law degree in 1988.
