Mrs. Springer has been an attorney since 2000. She concentrates her practice in special education law. Mrs. Springer started her practice as a construct defect litigation attorney. In 2006, after her son was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, her focus changed. Mrs. Springer knows what it is like to be a parent advocating for services during meetings with district staff. Mrs. Springer believes the heart of every special education case is the student who has a disability which is impacting his or her academic performance. Mrs. Springer’s work ranges from writing, consultation, and workshops covering issues such IEP team meetings, mediation, and due process hearings to state compliance and OCR complaints. Mrs. Springer is familiar with the broad range of issues that arise, from determination of a child’s eligibility for special education, to negotiating for an appropriate in-district program, to securing public funding for a private school placement. She has also been able to advocate for continued services through a charter school allowing for homeschooling to be an option.
