As a single parent, Ms.Poplawski began her undergraduate work in Public Policy at Penn State University, then continuing on to graduate school at Harvard University, where Ms.Poplawski was already being recognized as an exceptional leader and confident communicator with a work ethic that was well-recognized by her peers. Her talents eventually made the journey from the east coast all the way to the Pacific Northwest to attend law school at Gonzaga University School of Law with her young son in tow.. In 2007, Ms.Poplawski received the Status Conference Advice Clinic Volunteer Attorney of the Year Award for 2013. She then recevied the Volunteer Attorney of the Year Award for 2014. She continues to volunteer every Thursday at the status confernce and show cause court dockets helping pro se litigants navigate through the court system in assisting them in preparation of their final court documents. She has been a board member of the St. Joseph’s Family Center and received the Washington State Bar Association Pro Bono Public Service Commendation Award in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Ms. Poplawski is the current ViceChair of the WSBA Character and FItness Board (Chair effective October 2015).. Ms.Poplawski is also a Pro Tem Commissioner in Spokane County District Court.. Prior to her legal career, Ms.Poplawski worked for the Pennsylvania State Senate, the Commission on the Status of Women in New York City, and the American Red Cross.
