G. Fred Metos has been engaged in the practice of criminal defense law since 1978 when he graduated from the University Of Utah College Of Law. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, and in the Mountain States Magazine “Super Lawyers”. He is listed in Martindale Hubble’s AV Preeminent Lawyers. Lawyers earning the highest rating for both legal ability and ethical standards are listed in that publication.. I have extensive experience in both the State and Federal Courts. Before entering private practice I worked at the Salt Lake Legal Defender Association. My clientele varies from defendants charged with complex white collar, RICO and drug offense to those charged with local misdemeanors. I represent clients at both trial and appellate levels. I have published articles and lectured in both those areas.. I was one of the founders and the first president of the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I have served on the Board of Directors of that organization and of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. I was the Utah State Bar Associate representative on the Utah State Sentencing Commission from 1997 – 2005. I also served on the Utah Supreme Court Committee on the Rules of Appellate Procedure
