He has extensive experience litigating both underlying class actions and insurance coverage disputes arising out of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act.. Jeff has been selected repeatedly as a Leading Lawyer in the area of Insurance, Insurance Coverage & Reinsurance Law by the Leading Lawyers Network, most recently in 2014. The distinction of being a Leading Lawyer is earned by fewer than 5% of all lawyers licensed to practice law in Illinois.. Jeff earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University Of Illinois College Of Law, in 1987, where he was an Associate Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review, a Notes Editor for the Illinois Bar Journal Recent Decisions, and received Harno Scholar academic recognition and the American Jurisprudence Award for U.C.C. Article 9. He earned a B.S. in Accountancy, with honors, from the University of Illinois, in 1984. He also received his Illinois Certified Public Accountant Certificate in 1984.. Jeff is admitted to practice in Illinois (1987), the United States Supreme Court (2013), the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (1990), the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit (2013), the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (2013), the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (2013), the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (2014), United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois (1987; Trial Bar, 1994), United States District Court, Central District of Illinois (1990), United States District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin (2012), United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan (2012) and United States District Court, Western District of Michigan (2013). He also has been admitted pro hac vice in numerous state and federal courts.. Jeff’s extensive civic and community service includes four elected terms as a Village Trustee, Village of Buffalo Grove (1999 to present), where he also has held the position of Village President Pro Tem, since May, 2011. He also has served as a member and Chairman of the Metra Citizens’ Advisory Board, representing Lake County (2010 to 2013), a member of the Regional Transportation Authority Citizens’ Advisory Board (2011 to 2013), a member of the Board of Directors, Lake County Transportation Alliance (2012 to present), a member of the Northwest Municipal Conference Transportation Committee (2001 to present), a member of the Lake County Private Activity Bond Allocation Advisory Committee (2001 to present), and a Plan Commissioner on the Village of Buffalo Grove Plan Commission (1992 to 1999).
