Gordon was a public school teacher in Nederland, Beaumont, and Vidor before attending and graduating from South Texas College of Law in 2003.. Gordon is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Jefferson County Bar Association. He has previously served as a director/board member for the Jefferson County Bar Association and was the Section Chairman of the Family Law Section and is a member of the State Bar of Texas School Law and Family Law Sections. Additionally, he has served as a board member for Jefferson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the United Way of Mid-County.
