Rami D. Fakhoury is the founder and Managing Director of Fakhoury Law Group (FLG, now known as FGI), the largest independently-owned business-based immigration law firm in Michigan. (: 2016) and USCIS Immigration Procedures and US State Department Consular Processes (: 2009); and authoring The Immigration Practitioner’s Guide to U.S. Export Control Regulations (: 2011), The PERM Book, 3rd edn. (: forthcoming, January 2017), chapters on H-1B, EB-1, EB-5 and TN visas in the Global Business Immigration Practice Guide (LexisNexis: 2012), a regular column on global IT and US immigration law for the Financial Times of India, as well as hundreds of policy articles, professional and trade group presentations, and white papers. He has also drafted immigration policy proposals for the State of Michigan and is actively involved in several initiatives with local governments in the southeast Michigan region.. He has been recognized widely including the Global Detroit Champion Award (2016) from Global Detroit, a Top Lawyer in DBusiness and Hour Detroit magazines, and as Immigration Attorney of the Year for 2011 by Detroit Lawyer Monthly. Rami is also affiliated with the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers (ABIL) where he is an equity partner, the State Bar of Michigan (International Law Section), the Immigration Law Committee of the International Business Association, and the Center of International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria. He is also a policy consultant to Michigan Governor Rick Snyder as well as to Global Michigan and Global Detroit.. A Detroit native, Rami earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Wayne State University and his J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University, with a specialization in international law. He enjoys travel, squash, hiking, reading, attending concerts, and spending time with his wife and three children.
