Megan also acts an independent investigator for various entities, government and private, to investigate internal complaints, provide findings and make recommendations. As a member of Pence and MacMillan, coupled with a strong commitment to community service, Megan serves as a leader both within the legal community and the state of Wyoming. Megan was appointed by Governor Mark Gordon in 2021 to serve as one of seven Commissioners on the Wyoming Community College Commission. Megan served as the Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Wyoming Business Council, together with Governor Gordon in 2019-2020. Megan was previously appointed to the WBC as a Director in 2014 by former Governor Matt Mead. Megan was appointed by the Wyoming Supreme Court as a Member of the Wyoming State Board of Law Examiners and has served as Chair. Megan has been past president of several community organizations, including the Laramie Economic Development Corporation and Rotary. Megan was selected as the Business Person of the Year in 2012 and again in 2017, and has been recognized on multiple occasions for her philanthropic endeavors.
