Jeanne's areas of practice include handling disputes involving wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning matters; business breakups, shareholder disputes, and other business litigation; insurance law; construction and real estate transaction disputes; land use and zoning disputes; trademark and other intellectual property disputes; and consumer law.  Jeanne has handled matters in state and federal courts, including adversary proceedings in bankruptcy, administrative agency proceedings, and appeals.. For over 20 years, Jeanne has represented individuals and businesses in many different types of disputes, including litigation involving contracts and claims of fraud, misrepresentation, trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, interference with contractual relations, and other business torts. In addition, Jeanne has represented beneficiaries in trust and estate disputes, including disputes involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty and self-dealing.  Jeanne also has substantial experience representing individuals and businesses in consumer law matters, including disputes involving advertising and sales practices, debt collection, and credit reporting practices.. In addition to representing sellers and buyers in real estate disputes, Jeanne has represented real estate developers, owners, and construction companies and other contractors in litigation arising out of construction projects, including matters involving claims of breach of contract, defective design, defective construction, and theft by contractor. Jeanne has also represented clients in environmental litigation relating to hazardous waste disposal, groundwater contamination, asbestos abatement, and insurance coverage for environmental claims.. Jeanne graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1993, where she was an Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. During law school, Jeanne worked as a law clerk for the Wisconsin Department of Justice in its consumer law department.. Jeanne is a visiting faculty member of the University of Wisconsin Law School and is a member of both the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Dane County Bar Association.  In April 2019, Jeanne was appointed to the Governor’s Judicial Selection Advisory Committee.  She also serves on the Executive Committee of the James E. Doyle Chapter of the American Inns of Court and is a member and Past President of the Madison Horizons Rotary Club. In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
