College Education:. Mr. Fisher graduated with a degree in Biology with a focus on chemistry from Davidson College in 1991. Initially focused on science, he worked as a Research Technician for Dr. Cordelia-Stone in a pathology lab at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1992. He then spent two years in the molecular biology doctoral program at the University of Georgia. Mr. Fisher’s extensive science background makes him well-versed in dealing with the scientific evidence that can be involved in criminal cases. He understands the science behind DNA fingerprinting, breath testing, organic chemistry, drug testing, forensic pathology, medical testimony, and causation, and is well-equipped to handle experts on the stand.. After his time at the University of Georgia, Mr. Fisher returned to Florida desiring to be a trial attorney. He chose the University of Florida’s, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, the No. 1 law school in Florida according to U.S. News & World Rankings. During law school, he developed his knowledge of criminal law and established the foundation of his trial skills and litigation abilities.. Legal Experience:In 1998, after graduating from law school, Mr. Fisher spent three years practicing civil litigation where he handled cases in personal injury, construction, appeals, and administrative law. From there he went on to become a prosecutor for the State of Florida in 2001. As a prosecutor, he handled a wide spectrum of cases from suspended licenses and DUI up to armed robbery and first-degree murder cases. During his time at the State Attorney’s office, Mr. Fisher tried over 173 cases in front of a jury, including fifteen first and second-degree murder cases and dozens of armed robberies, home invasions, manslaughter, drug trafficking, and other crimes. He has been featured on national media outlets and even had one of his trials broadcast nationally by Court TV. In addition to his trial experience, Mr. Fisher has also handled grand jury cases, evaluated hundreds of filing decisions, and handled post-conviction matters such as withdrawal of pleas, violations of probation, and at least one appeal before the Fifth District Court.. Outside the Courtroom:Mr. Fisher has been invited to teach classes on Williams Rule and Search and Seizure by law enforcement agencies and the Florida Prosecutor's Association and has participated in the training of computer forensic experts as an acting defense counsel. He has also taught CLE classes on white-collar crime, jury selection, drug possession, and handling of violations of probation. Mr. Fisher is also an active member of the community and a Member of the Orange County Bar Association since 2002.
