About Brian Cahn
Brian Cahn is a native of Cartersville, having graduated from Cartersville High School. He completed his college education at the University of Georgia in 1991, earning a degree in business administration. After graduation, Brian moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended law school and earned his law degree from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, in 1994. With his law degree, law license, and a strong desire to return to Cartersville, Georgia to embark on his law career, he was invited to join a local law firm to assist local clients in need of bankruptcy advice. With empathy and compassion, Brian has helped thousands of satisfied clients obtain financial relief through cases under Chapters 7 and 13 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. In addition, he has counseled many clients - individuals and businesses - to a fresh start by reorganizing under Chapter 11. Never wanting to recommend bankruptcy as the first or only option, Brian has helped countless clients avoid bankruptcy by spearheading debt settlement plans, and debt-related litigation defense, along with FDCPA and FCRA litigation, and foreclosure defense.. MEMBERSHIPS & AFFILIATIONS. Brian is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Metro Atlanta Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney Group (MACBAG) the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Cherokee Judicial Circuit Bar Association. Brian has the highest possible Avvo rating of “Superb” based on combined metrics of client reviews, experience, peer endorsements, and career accomplishments. His case volume and experience litigating new and evolving issues has earned numerous invitations to speak at legal conferences and related seminars.. Distinguished speaking engagements include presentations to hundreds, if not thousands, of legal professionals at several continuing legal education (CLE) conferences: The 2007 Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal Symposium (presenting Recent Case Developments Post-BAPCPA), the 2009 American Bankruptcy Institute Trial and Litigation Skills Training Workshop in Atlanta, the 2012 Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal Symposium (Recent Developments in Consumer Bankruptcy), the 2013 Annual American Bankruptcy Institute Memphis Consumer Bankruptcy Conference (Recognition and Prevention of Abuse in Consumer Bankruptcy Cases), the 2014 Annual NACTT Meeting in Chicago (Issues involving Surrender of Property in a Chapter 13 case), the 2014 Georgia Bar Association Bankruptcy Section Seminar at Lake Oconee (“Life Happens” – Unforeseen Post-Confirmation Issues and Scenarios), presentation for the North Georgia Real Estate Investors’ Group (363 Sales, Leases, Motions to Lift Stay), guest speaker at Georgia State University School of Law (Reaffirmation Agreements and Motions to Redeem), etc.. FAMILY AND INTERESTS. While Brian’s career has revolved around finding legal avenues to help clients manage debt, his life in general revolves around his wife, Angie, and their two children, Elliana and Eric. Whenever UGA football, or golf or fishing can be added to the mix of life, then that’s considered a bonus.
