Sam received a B.A. in political science from the University of Oregon in 2009 and a second B.A. in History in 2011. During his summers, while an undergraduate at University of Oregon, Sam worked as a wildland firefighter. He was elected University of Oregon’s Student Body President in 2008 and again in 2013. Between undergrad and law school, Sam worked in the legislative office of State Representative Brent Barton.. Sam received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2014. During law school, Sam served as an intern for Oregon’s Senior United States Senator, Ron Wyden, in Washington D.C. He was elected Vice-President of the Student Bar Association in 2012. Sam also was a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Debre Weintraub, in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
