While on active duty as a JAG, Greg prosecuted and defended over a hundred felony cases with charges ranging from drug possession to murder. Additionally, he was selected to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. In that capacity he prosecuted hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases arising on federal property in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Greg is often called upon by local news organizations to comment on prominent military legal cases. Greg's last active duty assignment was at the Defense Appellate Division in Washington DC where he wrote criminal appellate briefs and argued appeal cases. Greg was honorably discharged from the Army JAG corps in April 2004. Greg was awarded numerous awards from the army upon his discharge to include the Meritorious Service Medal.. Currently Greg’s practice area includes Criminal Defense, Appellate Advocacy, Family Law, and Federal employment litigation. Greg also serves as a law guardian where he represents children involved in family court litigation. He recently won a landmark victory at the Merit Systems Protection Board for federal employees in the case of Gregory Lee, Geoffrey Wellein v. Department of Justice and John Collins v. Department of Agriculture. Greg has numerous awards including the 2005 Freedom Team Salute by Peter J. Schoomaker, General of the United States Army, and Francis J. Harvey, Secretary of the Army. Greg is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Additionally Greg is certified by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and is a member of the NASD arbitration panel.. Greg has recently been appointed to the Committee on Character and Fitness for the State of New York Appellate Division’s Third Judicial District. Before prospective attorneys are admitted to the New York State Bar and allowed to practice law in New York State they must be personally interviewed by the Committee on Character and Fitness. The Third Judicial District includes Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties. He has also been elected to the Albany – Colonie Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.Greg currently serves as the firm's managing partner. Before becoming an attorney, Greg retired from the East Meadow, New York Fire Department were he served as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician.
