A skilled and seasoned criminal defense and trial attorney, Julian Kemp focuses his practice on family law, juvenile dependency and delinquency, first time offenders, DUI, drug possession, theft and grand theft, sex offenses and violent crimes. He has represented hundreds of families and individuals across Florida. Mr. Kemp also represents individuals and companies who are the subject of grand jury subpoenas and he regularly interfaces with the prosecutors and case agents in such matters.. Prior to entering private practice in 2006, Mr. Kemp served as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County and the 18th Judicial Circuit (Seminole County, Florida), where he represented court appointed, and private clients, in state criminal prosecutions as well as appeals including several clients charged with homicides and capital offenses.. Mr. Kemp earned a B.A. in History, cum laude, from Morgan State University, 1995, and a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, 1998. He interned with Miami-Dade county’s Office of the Public Defender and with the Honorable Barry L. Garber, United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District. An Army veteran, he served in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.. He is a member of several professional and community service organizations including the Florida Assn. of Criminal Defense Lawyers (FACDL), Central Florida Assn. of Criminal Defense Lawyers (CFACDL), the Florida Bar Assn., Seminole County Bar Assn., the American Bar Assn., the Paul C.
