Raul was worked in both the public and private sector. Most notably, he served for 7 years as a trial lawyer with the Los Angeles County Public Defender. Moreover, he has been specially trained and experienced in handling sexual assault and domestic violence cases.. In 2016 he was elected President of the San Gabriel Valley Lawyer Referral Service (SGVLRS). The SGVLRS is a non-profit public service organization, certified by the State Bar of California that provides lawyer referrals to the public. On the board he was responsible for evaluating the credentials, experience, and ethical records of other lawyers who apply for membership.. In addition to practicing law, Raul has taught as an adjunct professor at Cal Poly Pomona for 15 years and is now an adjunct professor at the La Verne College of Law. He has earned an undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Marymount University.
