Luke K. Stanton is an attorney whose work over the past decade has entrenched him in the American cannabis industry.  Specializing in cannabis opportunities in both medical and recreational markets, Mr. Stanton understands the business from a variety of perspectives.  Originally from Northern California, Mr. Stanton’s legal career began with one of California’s top cannabis criminal defense firms where he specialized in California medical cannabis issues.  As his career progressed, Mr. Stanton’s work shifted away from a focus on defending medical cannabis interests and towards working with businesses on the emerging legal cannabis landscape.. In early 2015, Mr. Stanton founded the Frontera Law Group (), one of the first law offices in the state of California to truly focus on business issues in the space.  Frontera Law Group specializes in business law, corporate law, corporate formation and structuring, corporate governance, commercial contracts and transactions, strategic alliances, joint ventures and partnerships, sales and acquisitions of businesses, intellectual property, licensing and entertainment deals, trademark counseling and registration, medical marijuana compliance, cannabis entrepreneurship, cannabis industry start-ups, state licensing, multi-state expansion projects, and criminal defense.. Mr. Stanton is a member of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws Legal Committee (NORML), Americans for Safe Access (ASA), Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), Coalition for Cannabis Policy Reform (CCPR), and Reform California.  He attended the University of Notre Dame and received his B.A. in Political Science in 2003.  He then attended the Pepperdine University School of Law, as well as Pepperdine’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, the nation’s leading Dispute Resolution program, earning his Juris Doctorate and Master’s Degree in the same three years.  Mr. Stanton was recently interviewed by Financial Times Magazine and the National Marijuana News, as well as by Borderline Amazing Productions for a Netflix series on drugs in America.. Mr. Stanton’s career, in all of its forms, focuses on helping clients build successful, sustainable and responsible businesses in the cannabis space, and assisting those businesses in the process of negotiating the rapidly changing landscape of cannabis laws and regulations nationwide.
