About Tigran Palyan
Mr. Palyan, a Certified Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” for 2014 through 2020, and a Southern California “Outstanding Young Lawyer” on Los Angeles Magazine’s “Top Attorneys” List for 2014 through 2020. He is one of the youngest attorneys to be appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Family Law Section. He also served as Chair of the Trial Readiness Clinics Committee, established by LACBA and designed to help self-represented litigants prepare for trial in their family law proceeding. Mr. Palyan also serves on the Pro-Bono Panel of the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, providing free legal services for the low-income community.. Prior to opening his own law firm, Mr. Palyan was a partner with the firm of Trope & DeCarolis LLP, prior to which he was an associate at Trope and Trope LLP. Before entering the private practice, Mr. Palyan served as a judicial law clerk and research attorney to Judge Scott Gordon, Judge Maren Nelson, Judge B. Scott Silverman, Judge Randall Pacheco, and Judge Teresa Beaudet of the Family Law Department of the Central, Los Angeles County Superior Court. Mr. Palyan began his clerkship tenure as a research attorney clerking for judges in the general civil departments and then Judge David Yaffe of the Writs and Receiverships department. Mr. Palyan recommended rulings on motions for all five of his Family Law judges, and worked on dozens of high-profile and complex cases.. During law school, Mr. Palyan received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for achieving the highest grade in several courses, including Legal Research and Writing I and II, and Constitutional Law. He served as an Associate Editor of the Southwestern Law Review honors program, and competed in the Moot Court honors program for the John Marshall competition in Chicago. Mr. Palyan also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Arthur Alarcón for the Ninth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals, and the Planning & Research Unit (PRU) of the Los Angeles Superior Court. During his third year of law school, Mr. Palyan worked at a prominent Los Angeles boutique class and mass action law firm.. Mr. Palyan has published a Law Review article on privacy that has been cited in the Journal of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) among numerous other publications. He currently teaches as an adjunct professor at Southwestern Law School, teaching Family Law Practice and Procedure, the International Law Journal Seminar in the honors program, and Civil Pre-trial Practice. Mr. Palyan is often asked to present at various speaking engagements designed to help law students excel put on by various professional organizations and local law schools.
