She earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Russian Languages. Ms. Mailyan received her Juris Doctorate in 2013 from the University of California, Davis School of Law. Ms. Mailyan clerked at the Immigration clinic for 2 years and gained extensive experience in representing immigrants with diverse legal issues. Ms. Mailyan also successfully graduated from The Public Service Law Program academic certification program by providing hundreds of hours of pro bono legal services. While in law school, Ms. Mailyan was a Moot Court Board member and upon graduation Ms. Mailyan was invited to join The Order of Barristers - a national honorary organization for graduating seniors who had demonstrated outstanding ability in the preparation and presentation of moot appellate argument.
