Mr. Koutsoudakis is focuses his practice on government audits, and individual and class action employment litigation defense. Specifically, he represents individuals and businesses involved in federal or state litigation, or who are the subject of a government audit or investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor Wage & Hour Division, the New York State Department of Labor Division of Labor Standards, the National Labor Relations Board, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also regularly represents individuals and businesses who are sued for alleged violations of federal and state civil rights and employment laws, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law. Within his Commercial practice, he represents clients involved in various business disputes including shareholder, partnership and membership disputes, as well as breach of contract and other commercial claims. He has extensive experience in representing individuals and businesses in the food service industry, including restaurants, distributors, and manufacturers, as well as in the real estate and construction industries. While in law school, Mr. Koutsoudakis was a Member of the St. Thomas Law Review and the recipient of numerous Best Student Awards. He completed a joint degree (JD/MBA) program in less than three years, and graduated at the top of his class. Because of his business background and experience, he understand his client’s needs and is able to better counsel them by taking into consideration both the business and legal issues involved..
