Born to Ecuadorian immigrants, Ricky grew up witnessing firsthand the power of perseverance, hard work, and resilience. His journey hasn’t been a straight path—after leaving high school, he joined the U.S. Army, where he served on active duty, including a tour in Afghanistan. That experience instilled in him discipline, adaptability, and a deep sense of responsibility, all of which define his approach to law today.. After his military service, Ricky refocused on his education, earning his law degree from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he graduated with honors. He began his legal career as a judicial intern, then gained extensive trial experience as a prosecutor for the State of Illinois. There, he handled cases from arraignment through trial, building a strong foundation in criminal law. Prior to that, he worked in personal injury and medical malpractice, sharpening his skills as an advocate and litigator.. Ricky understands that life doesn’t always go as planned, and he believes that no one should be defined by their worst moment. With years of experience as an ombudsman, he’s worked tirelessly to ensure that people facing difficult circumstances have a voice in the process. His deep understanding of people, along with his empathetic approach, allows him to connect with clients and find fair and effective solutions to their legal issues. He prides himself on being both a strong legal strategist and a compassionate guide, helping clients navigate not only their cases but also the stress and uncertainty that can come with them.. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest, searching for the best local coffee, and spending time with his family.
