Matthew D. Melewski is an accomplished litigator who has successfully argued cases and appeals in state and federal courts throughout the country. Matthew also counsels clients on regulatory and environmental matters.  He has handled more proceedings involving the regulation of ballast water than any attorney in the country, and in successful Clean Water Act litigations alone, has pioneered novel legal theories and procedural strategies, and argued first-of-their-kind cases. Finally, much of his time focuses on important human rights and civil liberties, entirely on a pro bono basis.. Current clients include national and international industry groups, a professional sports team, individuals and companies. Past clients include some of country’s largest solar development, mining, recycling, construction, wastewater, and electrical generation companies.. Matthew was previously an attorney at two of the largest and most respected law firms in the country, Hunton & Williams LLP and Leonard, Street and Deinard (now Stinson Leonard Street LLP).  Matthew has won numerous awards for writing, speaking and pro bono representations.  While in law school, he was a judicial extern to the Honorable Franklin L. Noel, Magistrate Judge at the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
