Michael is licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, and Ramsey County Bar Association. Michael practices in the area of business law, with an emphasis on assisting veteran owned small businesses.. Prior attending law school and starting Herring Legal PLLC, Michael Herring had the pleasure of serving his country in the U.S. Army as military intelligence officer. While serving in this capacity, he was called to defend our country in 2003 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After serving for six years in the U.S. Army, he enrolled in law school at William Mitchell College of Law to achieve his childhood dream of becoming an attorney.. He obtained a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law where he served as the Student Bar Association’s President and Treasurer. During law school, he participated in Rosalie Wahl Moot Court and was honored to be named a Marshall-Brennan Fellow. Additionally, he was awarded the Student of Merit award, which is given to a graduating student showing excellent commitment to academics and community.. In addition to practicing law, Michael enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and attending baseball games at Target Field. In his spare time he is also a volunteer coach for Maple Grove High School’s Mock Trial Team and is a board member with Mini-Hops Gymnastics in Plymouth, MN. Mike is also a member of the Golden Valley Veteran of Foreign War (VFW) chapter and a member of the Golden Valley Rotary Club.
