Steve received his law degree cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review. He was a law clerk for the Honorable Sam Hanson of the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Honorable Paul Magnuson of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Steve also holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Augsburg College in Minneapolis.. He is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, Ramsey County Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute. Since 2005, he has served on the MSBA’s Publications Committee, which oversees publication of Bench & Bar, the magazine distributed to attorneys across Minnesota.. Steve teaches journalism part-time at Augsburg College and has been a tenor with the VocalEssence Chorus since 2004.
