Peter M. Halden has been a member of the New Jersey Bar for 41 years. Prior to that, he worked as a journalist for 11 years, first in radio broadcast news and eventually with the Associated Press and the Courier-Post. While a journalist, Peter received numerous honors, including the Silver Gavel for his writing on law-related topics.. Peter is a member of the seven-person New Jersey Board of Bar Examiners, which he has served since 1985. During that time, he has authored and graded 22 essay questions that appeared on the New Jersey Bar Exam, and overall he has graded more than 35,000 essay answers. He is today the most senior member of the Board.. From 1979 to 2007, a period of 28 years, Peter served as the Municipal Court Prosecutor in Berlin Township. He has also prosecuted in Cherry Hill, Waterford, Lindenwold and Berlin Borough, and today his practice includes Municipal Court defense work.. Peter serves as a member of the Matrimonial Early Settlement Panel in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties. He also lectures on Family Law for the National Business Institute, and he is involved in the annual Bridging the Gap program that provides continuing Family Law legal education to lawyers on the staff of the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.
