Anne Emery created the firm in 2004 after retiring from the State's Attorney's Office for St. Mary's County. Over 18 years she prosecuted major felony cases (including murder, child abuse and rape), traffic cases (both minor and serious) and worked with DSS to establish paternity and enforce child support orders.. Ms. Emery is a graduate of the University of Maryland, a 1987 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, and was admitted into the Maryland Bar in June of 1987. She is also a current member of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, the Governor's Commission for Judicial Selection for St. Mary's and Calvert counties, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, the Maryland State Bar Association and the St. Mary's County Bar Association. She previously served as President of the St. Mary's County Bar Association and has served on the boards of the St. Mary's Council on Children and Youth, and the Tri-County Youth Services Bureau.Ms. Emery has completed courses in the handling of domestic violence cases, contested custody matters, child abuse and computer crime. She currently handles cases involving: divorce/custody matters, protective/peace orders, criminal defense (felony and misdemeanor), DUI and other serious traffic matters, wills and estates, and business organizations.
