Alisa has a robust public service background. Before joining a firm to practice Family Law, she was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jeanette J. Clark in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia Family Court. Alisa also served as a legal extern for the Office of the Attorney General of the District of Columbia in the Child Protection Section, as well as a law clerk at the Children’s Law Center in the Guardian Ad Litem Project, where she assisted in the disposition of several neglect and abuse cases from intake to the final adjudication.. Receiving her Juris Doctor, With Honors, in 2011 from The George Washington University Law School, Alisa was the President of the G.W. Law Association for Women, the Vice President of Student Affairs of the G.W. Student Bar Association and a student attorney in the G.W. Domestic Violence Project Community Clinic. She also served as a Research Assistant to Professors Naomi Cahn and Catherine Ross working on family and reproductive rights issues, and she was recognized for her work in Naomi Cahn’s article, No Secrets: Openness and Donor-Conceived ‘Half Siblings.’ Alisa received her Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University in Political Science and Sociology, where she was a Presidential Merit Scholar and Capitol Scholar. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Florida.
