Ilana R. Tanner founded The Law Office of Ilana R. Tanner in 2013, focusing her practice on family law. As Managing Partner, Ilana provides compassionate, results-driven legal representation to individuals and families facing family law challenges. Her practice is solely dedicated to serving clients in Travis, Williamson, and Burnet counties. Growing up, Ilana always knew she would one day become a lawyer. Her mother and father are both attorneys who set excellent examples of conscientious and dedicated counselors.. In addition to her current work, she has also first chaired multiple DWI jury trials, as well as worked for the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Office of the Governor, and the Travis County Attorney’s Office. In addition, she completed two semesters of the Children’s Rights Clinic in Law School, where she represented children as an attorney ad litem in cases where the state was seeking termination of parental rights.. Ilana graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies – Human Relations with a Focus in Business Administration in 2009. During college she played Texas Women’s Lacrosse, attended every UT home football game, and was a member of Beta Alpha Rho, a pre-law fraternity. She earned her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 2012. During law school, she was selected to work on the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas & Energy Law and the Texas Review of Law and Politics. She was also selected for inclusion in The Lloyd Lochridge American Inn of Court.. Ilana is one of only 860 lawyers in the entire state of Texas to qualify as Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and is a member of The Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. She was also selected by her peers for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars, Family Law for 2020.. In her spare time, Ilana enjoys playing with her 120 pound Great Pyrenees Mix, Crockett, and going to the dog park and farmers’ markets. She enjoys trying new restaurants in town, and is an avid reader. On Sundays in the fall, you can always find Ilana cheering on the Houston Texans.
