I became a family law attorney because I personally witnessed the positive impact a family law attorney can make on the lives of the people they help, and I want to help people who cannot help themselves.  It is my personal mission to become the best and most knowledgeable attorney that I can possibly be so I can truly be a resource for clients facing family law related issues.. I am a very energetic and outgoing individual who loves to get my hands dirty. I enjoy volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, remodeling my house with my husband, and participating in 5K runs.. I grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where I graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Pre-law. While attending UTA, I was a University Scholar, a member of the Dean's List, and a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society.. After completing my undergraduate degree, I headed west to attend Texas Tech University School of Law where I was the Editor in Chief of the Business & Bankruptcy Law Journal and gained valuable experience while working in the school's Low-Income Tax Clinic. Additionally, I participated in the Wills for Heroes Pro Bono Clinic, which provides essential estate planning documents, free of charge, to our nation's first responders.. During law school, I spent a great deal of my time working for Judge William “Bill” Sowder in the 99th District Court, where I worked closely with the judge to better understand how he ruled on issues. This experience gave me a thorough understanding of civil law, in general, and helped me to become a better family law attorney.
