He also was appointed Judge Pro Tempore by the Louisiana Supreme Court and presided over the criminal and civil court docket for Division D of the 24th Judicial District Court. He also served as a Gretna City Councilman and as interim Councilman for Jefferson Parish.. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars for the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association. He is a former President of the Jefferson Bar Association. Joe has also been a guest lecturer at the Tulane and Loyola Schools of Law.
