Vander Laan, Esq.. Natalia has been working in the legal services industry for over ten years. Natalia was born and educated in Poland. There, in 2004, she received her first law degree, in Civil Law, after successfully defending her 140 page legal dissertation. With her admiration of the Common Law system and its application in the United States, Natalia boldly left the comfort of her friends and family and the security of her country and embarked to California to follow her dream of a legal career in the United States. In 2007 she enrolled in the nationally accredited McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. While being a full time law student, Natalia supplemented her legal education with concurrently holding a full time position as a paralegal, an invaluable opportunity she used to gain extensive legal experience by assisting in a wide variety of case litigation from class action lawsuits to personal injury, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse. In 2011 Natalia received her second law degree, having graduated as a member of the Dean's List and the Traynor Honor Society. Two months later, Natalia sat for and passed the California Bar Exam.. Natalia continued her legal career as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Her aptitude as an attorney resulted in her consistently attaining favorable outcomes of intricate, complex and often difficult to win cases and issues. This success was quickly noticed by the supervising attorneys and with confidence they depended on her to handle, on average, a load of 100 cases independently as well as serve as a mentor to law clerks. Each case was different, yet each one was equally important to Natalia. In managing each of her cases, she provided counsel to her clients, prepared case strategy, carried out the discovery process, and conducted settlement negotiations. Natalia relocated to Minden, Nevada in late 2013 to be with her husband and near her in-laws. In early 2014 she sat for and passed the Nevada Bar Exam. Natalia quickly became an active member of the Carson Valley community and enjoyed participating in local events offered by its thriving localities.
