A native of Dayton, Ohio, Chanda returned to Dayton and received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton in 2006. While at the University of Dayton, Chanda was awarded several academic scholarships for her scholastic achievements and was also selected to be a member of the school's prestigious Moot Court team. She received CALI (highest grade) awards in several classes and graduated in the top third of her class.
