Daryn R. Barker is named for her Uncle Darren, a creative liberty for a female that saw her listed as “male” on every school year’s initial roll. Daryn earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina. After college, she worked with foster children at Epworth Children’s Home in Columbia, South Carolina before returning to school to pursue her Juris Doctor.. Daryn received her Juris Doctor and Children’s Law Certificate from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was honored as the recipient of the South Carolina Bar Foundation’s prestigious I.M. Goldberg Award for her demonstrated commitment to family law. While in school, Daryn served as an Editor of the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal, an extern to the Honorable Judge Dorothy Mobley Jones of the Richland County Family Court, and a volunteer Guardian ad Litem.. In 2019 Daryn earned the prestigious American Bar Association certificate for Family Law Trial Advocacy. She has received the Client Champion Award from Martindale-Hubbell for six (6) consecutive years, winning a Gold distinction in 2023.
