Angela Myers graduated ranked number 2 in her law school class from the University of Memphis in 2002. While in law school, Angela was a Staff Member of the University of Memphis Law Review, and wrote an article that was published in the winter 2002 law review edition. Angela was awarded a Cecil C. Humphreys Law Fellowship 2000-2002, and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Civil Procedure I, Torts II, Constitutional Law, Legal Clinic and Best Memo. In 2002, she was admitted to practice before Missouri state courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.. Angela, an elder attorney, focuses her practice in the areas of Elder Law, Probate, Estate Planning and Litigation. Prior to joining Ozarks Elder Law, Angela’s practice was focused in the area of civil litigation, specifically products liability, personal injury, medical negligence and wrongful death. During that time she practiced with a local plaintiffs’ firm, gaining invaluable litigation and trial experience. In addition, she spent time as a law clerk for the Honorable William W. Francis, Jr., Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District.. Angela is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, The Missouri Bar, and The Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, Probate and Trust Committee, Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Southern Missouri Women Lawyers, Board of Directors January 2016-January 2018. She served on the Assemblies of God Credit Union, Board of Directors May 2016-May 2019.. She has been published and presented the following: • “Maestas v. Sofamor Danek Group, Inc.: The Tennessee Supreme Court’s Rejection of the Doctrine of Cross Jurisdictional Tolling”; The University of Memphis Law Review, Volume 32, Winter 2002.• Presenter, Nursing Home Admissions, Billing and Standards, Missouri Bar Spring Committee Meeting (Elder Law), May 2016• Presenter, Distribution and Closing of the Estate, National Business Institute, June 2016. • Presenter, Handling Creditor Claims and Debt, National Business Institute, June 2016• Presenter, Ethics in Depositions, Southern Missouri Women Lawyers July 2017 Meeting• Presenter, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Transitions Summit, September 2017. In May, 2018 Angela was awarded Missouri Lawyer’s Weekly Women’s Justice Award, General Practitioner.. In addition to her work as an attorney, Angela serves her community in a number of capacities. She has been a member of the Junior League of Springfield since August, 2013, and is currently Donor Relations Assistant Chair. She serves on the Judicare Panel for Legal Services of Southwest Missouri, was a Member, Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights and Community Relations (Springfield, Missouri), October 2016-October 2017, was in the Ozarks Leads Class 2017-2018, Ozark Chamber of Commerce, and is an active volunteer with her church JamesRiver Church.
