Michael and his father were part of a nearly $140 million settlement with the Los Angeles Unified School District in which they represented children who had been sexually abused by their teacher, and serial predator, Mark Berndt while they attended Miramonte. This was the largest settlement ever garnered against a school district in the country. Thereafter Michael continued working on other high-profile matters including being a part of a $58 million settlement against the LAUSD for a case involving teacher Robert Pimental who had sexually abused children at George De La Torre Elementary in Los Angeles. Other cases that include a $17.5 million settlement in an electrocution case on behalf of a family whose father was electrocuted. Recently he garnered a $5 million-dollar verdict against the El Monte Union High School District on behalf of a child sexually abused by her high school science teacher.. Michael continues to work on high-profile cases that have garnered national media attention.
