I'm a lifelong Missourian and proud Kansas Citian, a Mizzou Tiger and a UMKC Roo. My wife and I have kids in public school, where I volunteer. You should know that law is my second career, so I know the difference between the "real" and the "theory" of life and law.. I have worked in science and the law, so I have an easier time understanding how real people's issues translate to law practice. I value hard work, value, and trust, and I give my clients all three things. In my role as a scientist, I looked at data and was hands-on helping other scientists navigate technical issues. I gave others the run-down on what they were trying to do with complex instruments, and what the path forward to success looked like.. As a lawyer, I do the same thing, except for those people now facing difficult issues with criminal justice.. When it comes to the very technical areas that I practice in, I put in the effort to let people know what they can expect, how we will work the case together, what the "chances" are, and what to do next. I worked in DWI law for the State of Missouri, and I put that knowledge to work for those charged with DWI to ensure that they have the best defense available.. I make it my goal to give a price for the case that both they and I can live with, and I always want to have at least a short conversation with anyone facing criminal charges.
