During the financial crisis, Mr. Neiss gained significant experience assisting owners of distressed properties in predatory lending litigation and foreclosure defense, including loan workouts.. Mr. Neiss graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York with a degree in Philosophy and Religion. Mr. Neiss then received his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law where he studied all sides of real estate law, including real property, real estate finance, land use law, real estate investment analysis and private equity syndication.
