Michael L. Detzky has been representing individuals and business in bankruptcy for nearly 40 years. He served as a member of the private panel of Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey in Trenton for over 15 years and lectures extensively on bankruptcy issues for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing legal education and the U.S. Navy.  He has also been a frequent guest on the Fox News Channel. He has  authored a chapter in the Aspatore Books, Inside  the Minds series on Trends in Consumer Bankruptcy Filings.. His  15 years experience as Chapter 7 Banktuptcy Trustee combined with his nearly 40 years experience as a bankruptcy practictioner give him the unique ability to analyze a potential bankruptcy case from both sides and to identify and deal with potential problems in your case BEFORE your case is ever filed.. Mr. Detzky is a member and former trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Monmouth Bar Association. He  was previously the Chair of the Immigration & Naturalization Section and a Past-Chair of the Military Law & Veteran's Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.  He is a current member of the District IX Ethics Committee for Monmouth County, NJ.. He served in the United States Navy Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1982-2013, retiring with the rank of Captain. Upon his retirement in 2013, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Gold Star in lieu of 2nd Award by the President of the United States..
